Router-independent
Those are the names people search for when they want per-device visibility and control on a network they are already connected to. That is the need YTS Control is built for, as a current desktop application for Windows and Linux. It works from your own machine with no router password, and it does not decrypt HTTPS.
SelfishNet, EvilLimiter and NetCut are separate projects and products, named here only to describe the kind of task YTS Control performs. There is no affiliation, endorsement or feature-by-feature comparison implied, and no claim is made about their current behaviour.
Control works from the machine you already use on the network. There is no administration dashboard to sign in to, and no firmware setting to change.
A maintained desktop application with a stable Windows release and a Linux public beta, rather than an unmaintained utility from an older era of Windows.
Limits, pauses and domain rules target the device you select. The rest of the network carries on unchanged.

Discovery
See the phones, tablets, laptops, consoles and TVs sharing your connection — including anything you were not expecting. Most arrive with a recognisable name rather than a bare address, so you can tell whose device is whose.

Live bandwidth
When a video call stutters or a download crawls, the device responsible is on the screen instead of a guess. Upload and download speeds update for every device at once, next to a chart of the whole connection.

Speed limits
Cap one device’s download and upload speed and leave everyone else at full speed. The phone updating in the background stops competing with the work call, without anybody being cut off.

Internet controls
Stop one device reaching the internet for as long as you need, then give it back in a click. Homework, dinner, a deadline — everything else on the network carries on as normal.

Domain activity
Useful for a spot check — whether a tablet was on social media during homework, or whether a smart device is talking to somewhere unexpected. This is destination metadata only: the contents of encrypted connections are never read.

Domain rules
Apply a ready-made preset for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Discord or Messenger in a single step, or add a domain of your own. The rule applies to the device you picked and nothing else.

How it works
Control is something you switch on and off deliberately. Nothing is left configured on your router when you stop.
Select the network adapter connected to the network you intend to manage. YTS Control shows its local address and gateway so you can confirm the right one.
Begin control and let discovery run. Devices on the same IPv4 network appear in the list with the names the network publishes.
Watch live per-device speeds, then set download and upload limits, pause a connection or add a domain rule as needed.
When you have finished, select Stop & Restore Network. This puts the network’s normal mappings back before you disconnect or shut down.
Downloads
One installer serves the trial and the licensed application. Windows is the stable commercial platform; the requirements below decide whether YTS Control can work on your network, so read them before anything else.
Stable commercial platform · 14-day full-feature trial
The full desktop application, tested on Windows 10 and Windows 11. The same installer serves the trial and, once activated, a licensed installation.

No installer. Extract the archive in full, then run the application.

The Linux AppImage is not published yet, so there is no download here. Linux remains a beta: no stable Linux availability is promised, and buying a licence does not come with a Linux release date.
Work in progress
A macOS build is in progress. There is no download and no release date to announce.
There is nothing to download, no availability date to announce, and no purchase includes macOS support.
Every published download is listed with its filename, byte size and SHA-256 value, and with a separate checksum file where one is published, so you can confirm a file is the file that was released before you install it. The commands for doing that on Windows and Linux are under “Verify your download” below.
Npcap provides the packet capture and injection support that YTS Control builds on. It is developed and distributed separately, so you install it yourself before starting network control. Enabling WinPcap API-compatible mode during Npcap setup is recommended.
YTS Control does not include or redistribute Npcap.
MSI installer: Guided setup with shortcuts and a clean uninstall entry. Administrator access is required to install, and again to run network control. If you would rather not install anything, see the portable edition below.
Start YTS Control with administrator access, select the adapter connected to the network you mean to manage, then start network control. The four steps are described above.
Compare the checksum printed by your own system with the SHA-256 value published next to the file. If the two strings differ, delete the download and fetch it again.

Portable package: No installer. Extract the archive in full, then run the application. There is no installer involved, but the ZIP archive must be extracted in full before running the application — running it from inside the compressed archive will not work.
Administrator access and Npcap are still required, and the portable edition creates no uninstall entry: you remove it by deleting the extracted folder.
Check that you selected the adapter connected to the network you mean to manage, that the devices are on the same IPv4 network rather than behind another router, and that YTS Control is running with administrator access. Guest networks and client isolation can also block discovery entirely. Once those are confirmed, run discovery again.
Select Stop & Restore Network, which puts the network’s normal mappings back. If a device is still affected, reconnecting its Wi-Fi, or disabling and re-enabling the adapter involved, clears the stale state.
Often not. Guest networks commonly enable client isolation, which prevents devices seeing one another and stops discovery working. This is a property of the network, not something the application can work around.
More questions are answered in the frequently asked questions, and the compatibility list states what can prevent control working at all.
Mark the AppImage executable, then run it. On the first launch a graphical Polkit prompt asks for authorisation once, copies the protected payload to a protected system directory outside your home folder, and grants only the CAP_NET_RAW and CAP_NET_ADMIN capabilities needed for packet work. The interface itself continues to run as your normal user.

Technical details
What YTS Control needs from your network, what domain activity can and cannot show, where your configuration is stored, and what this release cannot do. Stated up front so you can tell before downloading whether it fits your setup.
Control depends on sharing a network segment with the devices you want to manage.
YTS Control observes destination-domain metadata where the network exposes it. It does not decrypt HTTPS, and it cannot read searches, messages, private page contents or encrypted payloads. Domain blocking is best effort.
Domain blocking is best effort. It acts on the signals a network exposes, so a device using a VPN, encrypted DNS, TLS Encrypted Client Hello or a connection that is already open can continue to reach a blocked destination. YTS Control does not decrypt HTTPS, and it cannot read searches, messages, passwords or private page contents.
Device identities, aliases, speed limits and domain rules are written to a settings file on the computer running YTS Control. Nothing is uploaded.
A per-user application-data folder inside your user profile.
A per-user data folder inside your home directory.
A backup copy named settings.backup.json is kept alongside the main file, which reduces the chance of losing your configuration to an interrupted write or a temporary file lock.

Some networks and adapters are outside what this release can manage. These are real limits, not edge cases.
Domain observation and domain rules both depend on signals the network exposes. Any of these can defeat them.
Always select Stop & Restore Network before closing YTS Control, changing networks, disconnecting the selected adapter, suspending, rebooting or shutting down while network control is active.
Use YTS Control only on networks and devices that you own or are authorised to administer.

Nothing here promises behaviour the application does not have yet. Where a commercial detail is still being settled, the answer says so instead of guessing.
All features are available during the 14-day trial. Device discovery, live bandwidth monitoring, per-device speed limits, internet pause and domain rules are all included, and the trial is the same installer a licensed user runs.
This is not settled yet, so no claim is made here. Whether the trial asks for a payment card will be stated on this page before the trial-enabled release is published.
The application remains accessible for activation and network restoration, but starting new network-control sessions requires a valid licence.
No. Stop & Restore Network remains available, and trial expiry does not leave a managed device redirected or disconnected. Restoring the network is never behind a licence.
That is what the 14-day trial is for: the full feature set runs on your own network before any payment. Read the compatibility limits first — guest Wi-Fi, client isolation, a second router or an uncooperative Wi-Fi driver can all prevent control, and none of those can be worked around from the application. If something behaves unexpectedly, contact the developer.
No. The Personal licence is a one-time purchase.
No. The price is the same everywhere: US$49.99 once, in US dollars. Where a reference exchange rate is available, the pricing card can also show approximately what that comes to in a local currency — that is a conversion of the same price, not a regional discount or a country-based price. The region and currency shown on the pricing card can be changed by hand, and that choice affects the display only.
The payment provider has not been selected yet, so this page makes no claim about it. Any local amount shown beside the price is an estimate converted at the latest reference exchange rate; the checkout is what confirms the actual currency, exchange rate, taxes and charged amount.
An activated licence allows continued use of eligible YTS Control 1.x versions without recurring payment.
