Monitor local network traffic by device
YTS Control shows a live, per-device view of your local network: which devices are active and how much each is uploading and downloading right now, alongside the total for the network. It’s built to answer “what’s using the connection?” at a glance.
A live picture of every device
Instead of a single number for the whole connection, YTS Control breaks traffic down by device. You can see, in real time:
- Each discovered device and whether it’s currently active.
- Live download and upload rates per device.
- Total network traffic, so a single heavy device stands out immediately.

This is often the first step before acting: once you can see which device is busy, you can decide whether to limit its bandwidth or pause it entirely.
What YTS Control can see — and what it cannot
Being clear about this matters. YTS Control can show the destinations a device is contacting, drawn from information that isn’t encrypted end to end:
- DNS lookups (the names a device asks to resolve).
- TLS server names (the site name sent when a secure connection starts).
- HTTP host headers for connections that aren’t encrypted.
It cannot see the contents of encrypted connections — not the pages someone views, their searches, their messages, or their passwords. Knowing that a device connected to a video or social service is not the same as seeing what was watched, read or typed, and YTS Control does not attempt the latter.
Even destination visibility has limits: VPNs, Tor, proxies, and privacy features such as encrypted DNS (DoH/DoT), Encrypted Client Hello (ECH) and QUIC can reduce or remove what any local tool can observe. The homepage covers this in more detail; see the FAQ and the privacy page.
What you need
- A Windows or Linux PC on the same local network as the devices you want to see.
- Administrator rights on that PC.

Honest limitations
Monitoring depends on your PC being able to observe the other devices on the local network. Guest networks and client isolation, dynamic ARP inspection, a second router or NAT boundary, and some Wi-Fi drivers can all limit or prevent it; YTS Control observes IPv4 traffic and does not track IPv6.
